Consent and contracts can be granted in many ways some written (Dungeon negotiation form) others simple verbal commitment.
Often a submissive contracts involved a collar. Some celebrate the event with a collaring ceremony. Some ceremony can be quite elaborate and can be as involved as a wedding or any similar rituals.
