Sadism is part of BDSM. It is giving or receiving. Cab be sometimes sexual from acts of pain, and or humiliation.
A sadist usually seeks out sexual acts from it.
A sadist enjoys giving or who enjoys receiving pain. Sadits can also be a switch.

S&M is often used for sadomasochism or SM, s/m

Sadomasochism is not considered a clinical paraphilia in less such practices lead clinically distress it would be inportant for diagnosis.

Sexual sadism with consent is not sexual violence.
